In Pursuit of Eden

Art Capital is a defining, one of a kind art event in Hungary; it is a festival centred on contemporary art, held in Szentendre, a town near Budapest. Szentendre is regarded by many as the art capital of Hungary – for several decades, scores of artists have resided in this town on the Danube, whose old streets are filled with museums and galleries.

"The central focus of this year’s Art Capital is the way modern humanity relates to nature and longs for Paradise Lost: the idea of the garden. Flowing river and fertile water – defining elements of the Biblical Garden of Eden – are important points of reference for the majority of exhibited works."
